I entered the Royal Palace and… I was inspired in a flash of a second by the blue carpet on white marbles. The natural light, entering from the right through the huge ancient windows, was simply perfect. For a few seconds, I was in the middle of a space without time.
What, from the first moment, caught my attention was the perfect contrast of the blue carpet with the white marble. It’s so simple and elegant, yet all the details fit perfectly. The thought that came to mind was: this architect has found his way to immortality.
This is the Royal Palace in Turin, Italy. The city I love the most
…that is not completely true. There are three cities I’m in love with: Turin and Rome in Italy, and Istanbul in Turkey. But that’s another story…
Coming back to Turin, I created this photograph in the hall of Palazzo Madama (Madama’s Palace). It’s the ancient Royal Palace located in the heart of this magnificent and elegant city. The architect designed the marble in the photograph more than 300 years ago. Today, it is still perfect: it’s as though time hasn’t had the courage to touch it.
I created this photograph in the morning, around 09.00 a.m. when the natural light is still soft and wraps around the marble.
It was a cloudy winter day which contributed to soft light without harsh shadows. I didn’t use Photoshop to improve this image. It was perfect from the start—a very rare occurrence.
I believe the Royal Palace ambiance is really unique and I was simply lucky to be there at the right moment.
The blue carpet gives perspective to this photograph and, despite the fact that years have passed from the moment its creation, this image still gives the feeling of a magical environment, full of luxury and elegance. I can imagine walking on this carpet, in this out of time palace, in perfect light. It invites you to dream.
This majestic staircase, with its white marble construction and bold blue carpet, is a timeless representation of Baroque elegance and the grandeur of Italian architecture.
As an artist, I was immediately captivated by the unparalleled beauty of this scene and the rich history it represents. My inspiration sprung from the desire to capture the essence of Turin's grandiose structures, embodying centuries of architectural innovation.
The photograph exhibits an artistic interpretation of the past, inviting viewers on a journey back in time. Its uniqueness lies in the perfect blend of the staircase's imposing structure and the soft, intricate patterns of the blue carpet, resulting in a harmonious depiction of contrast.
This photograph was taken with natural sunlight pouring in through the windows, casting a soft, warm glow on the white marble. The interplay of light and shadow adds depth to the image, giving it a three-dimensional feel. The careful composition and chosen time of day helped illuminate the fine craftsmanship and intricate details of this architecture.
This photograph would undoubtedly appeal to fine art connoisseurs, lovers of Baroque architecture, or anyone who appreciates the beauty of Italian culture. It would make an eye-catching centerpiece in a living room, study, or office, instantly enhancing the elegance and sophistication of the space.
Imagine the awe in your guests' eyes as they are immediately drawn to the elegance of the image, appreciating your unique sense of style and sophistication. The inability to acquire this print would mean missing out on an opportunity to own a piece of Italy's architectural heritage, a gap that no other artwork could fill.
This photograph embodies the intersection of art, history, and culture, transforming any room into a space of aesthetic delight and evoking a sense of awe and admiration.
