This photograph was created in Galleria Borghese in Rome - Italy, in 2016. It was a very long and hot day: my son Lorenzo, my wife Clara, and I had an infinite list of places on our "to-do" list (well, my wife and I had it, not Lorenzo...), and due to organizational circumstances the Galleria Borghese visit was at the end of the day, in the late afternoon.
What you can't see in the photograph is all the preparatory work behind it. Finding the right angle for the natural light and waiting for the right moment in Galleria Borghese was one of the most difficult and longest preparation times I ever had.
Not to mention the fact that a few minutes before this photograph was taken, my curious and brave son decided to push the door of the emergency exit, with the consequential activation of the alarm in the building and my deep sorrow in front of all the visitors, guards, and museum employees. Yes, it was a long day... but in the end, I was able to catch a spectacular detail of one of the most emotional statues ever made by a sculptor.
